Jewellery Care

Jewellery Care

We have created every piece of Luca Jouel fine jewellery to be worn and enjoyed everyday. By following a few simple guidelines you can ensure that your jewellery will always stay beautiful. Please note the following advise:

  • it is best to store your jewellery items separately to avoid scratching
  • try to apply all beauty products prior to putting your jewellery on
  • you may wish to remove finer chains and bracelets before sleeping to avoid accidental damage
  • avoid wearing jewellery in pools and spas or whilst cleaning as some chemicals can be corrosive and cause damage to some metals and gemstones
  • to keep your pieces looking their very best and to remove any dust or oils that can accumulate on the surface, we recommend simply cleaning with a soft toothbrush in warm soapy water, unless specifically indicated otherwise; a more intensive once or twice yearly professional clean and polish at your local jeweller can also be performed, and this is also a good time to check the setting of your stones to ensure that they are safe and secure
  • some Luca Jouel pieces have a matte or satin finish and for these we do not recommend the use of polishing cloths as they can alter the finish; silver pieces are the exception though and may be polished regularly with a silver cloth to remove the natural tarnish that comes with exposure to air and light
  • some Luca Jouel pieces are white rhodium or black ruthenium plated which may require re-plating to restore the finish from time to time dependent upon user wear
  • some stones cleave or fracture easily, especially when exposed to physical or thermal shock so we advise wearing your jewellery with care
  • ultrasonic cleaners should only be used with caution and are definitely not suitable for all jewellery, if unsure always check first

Should you encounter a mishap with one of your pieces, please contact us for advice. Some pieces might require a trip to your local jeweller, while others may fare better by being sent to us for an in-house repair. If you are unsure about anything concerning the care or wear of your jewellery, please ask
